Head of Nonfiction
Reporting to the CEO, founded the nonfiction division of the studio and led all development, production, and financing for the studio's documentary features, series, and unscripted formats. As an Executive Producer across the slate, built strategic partnerships with production companies, financiers, and distributors. Collaborated with the president of scripted television to acquire and co-develop IP across both divisions. Optioned books, packaged projects with A-list talent. Shaped the nonfiction business strategy alongside the CFO and COO following the studio's investment from Redbird IMI. Managed a team spanning a VP, manager, coordinator, and approximately two dozen freelancers and producers.
A24 (2019- 2021)
Head of Creative, Documentaries — Development & Production
Built and oversaw A24's documentary operation from development through release, managing a slate of 30+ projects including 13 feature films. Credits include co-executive producer on Val (Amazon), Underrated (Apple TV+), The Deepest Breath (Netflix), and The Sixth(Amazon), and executive producer on the seriesHome (Apple TV+). Spearheaded financing partnerships and cultivated deep relationships with established and emerging filmmakers. Served as the studio's lead for documentary acquisitions at top-tier film festivals and partnered with A24's merchandising and publishing teams to launch brand strategies around key releases.
Pilgrim Media Group, a Lionsgate Company(2017–2019)
Vice President / Head of Documentaries
Founded Pilgrim's documentary division, building and executing a business strategy encompassing development, production, sales, and global distribution. Managed a slate of 20+ projects and an in-house team of production executives, producers, editors, and researchers. Producing credits include Soufra(Official Selection, Cannes 2018; Berlinale 2018; released by Hulu), Tre Maison Dasan (Best Feature Documentary, Raindance 2018; released by Independent Lens/PBS), The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story(YouTube Premium), and Giving Voice(Sundance 2020 Audience Award; released by Netflix). Executive produced the Peabody award winning limited series High on the Hog(Netflix, 2021), based on Jessica B. Harris's book, directed by Oscar winner Roger Ross Williams.
Sony Music (2015–2016)
Senior Director, Business Development — Bleeding Fingers Custom Music Shop
Led business development for Sony Music's joint venture with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer — a collective of elite composers scoring for film and television. Reported to the CEO and CFO, driving strategic analysis of new markets and executing Bleeding Fingers' monetization and growth strategy on a global scale. Secured placements across NBC, ABC, FOX, and BBC properties — including Little Big Shots, $100,000 Pyramid, American Grit, and Planet Earth — along with 40+ additional U.S. cable series. Negotiated blanket deals with Viacom, A+E Networks, Turner, and National Geographic.
Sony Pictures Television Group (2014–2015)
Development Executive, Reality & Syndication
Oversaw development and production on ABC's Emmy-winning Shark Tank (2014 & 2015, Outstanding Structured Reality Program) and shepherded its companion series Beyond the Tank from development to series order. Concurrently managed production on CBS's The Briefcase, NBC's The Sing-Off Holiday Special, and 40 episodes of syndicated game show Chain Reaction (GSN).
Disney–ABC Television Group (2012–2014)
Manager, Alternative Series, Late Night & Specials
Oversaw development and production for primetime reality series and specials including Shark Tank, The Quest, Whodunnit?, The American Music Awards, Bet on Your Baby, and The Great Christmas Light Fight. Supervised integrations and brand partnerships with Wal-Mart and Proctor & Gamble for the Disney-ABC network across the programming slate. Fielded pitches with the executive team and managed ongoing development across pilots, specials, and series while liaising daily with business affairs, marketing, digital, promo, and PR across the unscripted programming slate.
